Hon. Victor H. Negrón, Jr.

Judge Negrón attended the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, graduated magna cum laude from St. Mary's University, and earned his law degree from St. Mary's Law School in 1978. He served as a Captain in the Judge Advocate General's Corps of the Texas Army National Guard. He is licensed to practice before the United States Supreme Court and all State Courts.

A general civil practitioner since 1978, Judge Negrón served as State District Judge of both the 407th and 438th District Courts of Bexar County, where he presided over all types of family law, civil and commercial disputes, and real estate matters. He is Board Certified in Family Law since 1987 and a past member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals.

As a contributing author of the Texas Expert Witness Manual and Family Practice Manual, and as an author, moderator, and presenter for numerous State Bar of Texas and University of Texas CLE Programs, Judge Negrón has helped shape the evolution of family law in Texas.

Judge Negrón has regularly been honored by his peers for his pursuit of legal excellence. Texas Monthly named him a Texas Super Lawyer in 2008, 2009, and 2010. He is consistently recognized as one of San Antonio's Best Lawyers by SA Scene Magazine and San Antonio Magazine. He received the Chancellor's Award from the San Antonio Catholic Lawyers Guild and the Distinguished Fellow Award from the Texas Justice Foundation.

His professional leadership includes serving as Past President of the San Antonio Bar Association, Past President of the S.A. Family Lawyers Association, Fellow of the San Antonio Bar Foundation, and President of the Alamo Council of Termination & Adoption Attorneys. He has served on the Texas Family Law Council, the Bexar County Domestic Relations Office Advisory Board, and the Texas Board of Legal Specialization Family Law Advisory Board.

Beyond his service on the bench and the Bexar County Legal Aid Association, Judge Negrón's dedication to volunteerism includes his military service, the Women's Law Center, the Child Guidance Center, Any Baby Can, the Community Justice Program, church involvement as a lay evangelist, and his role as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
